July 6th, 2010true religionKristen Stewart wore a little white dress — a Chanel Haute Couture number — to the BAFTAs in London, and Demi Moore chose another Chanel dress for the L.A. premiere of Valentine’s Day in February.
Forget the LBDs. It’s all about the LWDs.
But bare necks work as well as a drop earring to add a little sparkle. The possibilities are endless. If you dare to be bare, be mindful of making sure you’re self-tanned — or at least your skin looks soft and not flaky. (It’s been a cold and snowy winter, so it will be nice to shed that alligator skin!)

You can get the look for as little as $39 when H&M’s Garden Collection debuts. This strapless white dress is perfection for cocktails or dinner or just to keep when you’re feeling the need to break out of black and jewel tones.
How to wear white? The New Moon star wore hers with a white satin sandal — a super-clean look to allow the dress to shine on its own. Moore paired hers with a closed-toe high-heeled satin Brain Atwood pump, which I also like. She added a black evening clutch, which is sweet.

May 24th, 2010true religionIt’s a week before Fox unveils the seventh season of So You Think You Can Dance, and the show’s hostess is on the phone with a confession. “The first dress Christian Dior I bought where I thought I had gone completely mad was an Alexander McQueen,” Cat Deeley tells Style.com. “It was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen, like I had gone up to my grandmother’s attic and opened a trunk and pulled out this treasure of millions of layers of white tulle. It looked like a fairy-tale rock princess’s dress. I spent a fortune on it. But it’s so over the top that I’ve never, you know, actually worn it.”
Huh? This from the hostess of a weekly Fox dance-off?
But Deeley’s enviable wardrobe is reason enough for Christian Dior fashion-minded viewers to tune in, however they feel about splits and pliés. She’s quietly brought Balenciaga, Christian Dior, YSL, and Givenchy to prime time. “I like to have fun with what I wear on the show,” Deeley says. “People either love it or hate it, but they always have strong opinions about it. And, for me, that’s what fashion should be about.”
Even with more designers—especially countrymen like Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson, Alice Temperley, and Giles Deacon—making their collections available to her, Deeley says she still picks up many of her ensembles at vintage stores on the road during auditions. (She’s also got a strong feeling for French designers like Roland Mouret, Isabel Marant, and Lanvin.) So, what’s on deck for next Thursday? “I never know what I am going to actually wear until the morning of the show,” she explains. “I Christian Dior go into the studio and see how I’m feeling—ballsy or not? Then I pick the outfit and turn to my makeup team with detailed scenarios—like, think Talitha Getty in Morocco or Jerry Hall meeting Andy Warhol. That’s how we do it. I’ve definitely put some crazy things together in my time.” So why not wear the McQueen dress after all? “It’s so over the top that everyone would literally turn around and say I’ve gone clinically insane,” she laughs. “Maybe instead I will just get it framed.”

May 13th, 2010true religionThe U.S. government takes action only when an affected U.S. company or industry has filed a legal petition showing it has been harmed or threatened by the imports, he said.
(Reporting by Doug Palmer; editing by Mohammad Zargham)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. concerns about China’s Giorgio Armani policies to promote domestic innovation by imposing unfavorable terms on foreign companies will be a major topic at high-level bilateral talks this month in Beijing, a top U.S. official said on Wednesday.
Locke also defended a string of U.S. anti-dumping duties against Chinese steel and other goods over the past several years that have prompted Beijing to accuse the United States of protectionism.
The United States is in the midst of a review on such "export controls" and will have more to announce on that in coming months, Locke said.
The issue is seen as a sign that China is retreating from Giorgio Armani steps it has taken to open its economy to foreign companies over the past several decades.
On another topic, Locke acknowledged Beijing’s interest in the United States’ easing restrictions on U.S. exports of high-technology goods to China.
Many companies in the United States and Europe object to Chinese policies aimed at increasing China’s share of the world’s most valuable patents and trademarks by requiring companies to develop and register intellectual property in China to qualify for certain government procurement preferences.
"We will be raising the issue of indigenous innovation … throughout the trip, including at the S&ED" (Strategic & Economic Dialogue) meeting, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke told reporters ahead of a clean energy trade mission he is leading next week to China.
He noted the cases represent less than 3 percent of total U.S. imports from China.
But he noted less than 5 percent of U.S. exports to China currently require a license, and said most exports of controlled technologies to China are approved in Giorgio Armani a "very fast and expeditious way."

Prior to the big upgrade, the X10 will get a smaller software update. It will arrive in the next couple of weeks and aims to enhance the usability and performance on the X10,Discount Abercrombie&Fitch, according to the blog post.
Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro will all get upgraded from Android 1.6 to version 2.1 during the fourth quarter, the phone vendor True Religion said in a blog post on Wednesday.

May 7th, 2010true religionThe plan aims to increase living standards, build the region into a "well-off society" after 10 years and maintain long-term stability, the newspaper said, citing a report in Oriental Outlook magazine, a publication of the official Xinhua News Agency.
The ethnic problems in the far-western region boiled over last July into riots that also left nearly 1,600 people hurt.
"Improving Xinjiang’s economy is the only way the government can stabilize the region, not by guns or increased security," said Hu Zhaoliang, a professor of regional development at Peking University, who has researched the region.
China’s worst ethnic violence in decades began when Ed hardy belts Uighurs, a Turkic-speaking minority ethnic group, clashed with police during a protest in the Xinjiang capital of Urumqi.
Han Chinese in Xinjiang accuse Uighurs of being more concerned with religion than business, and unfairly favored by quotas for government jobs and university places.
The program will be launched in 2011 and is expected to yield significant results within five years, Vice Premier Li Keqiang was quoted as saying by the China Daily.
"If China had acted sooner, not as much resentment and anger would have been built up in the region," said Hu. "Now, with this new plan, the government is hoping to create more stability and prevent unrest."
BEIJING – China plans to inject nearly $1.5 billion into a western region that is the site of simmering unrest, boosting its economy in hopes of reducing ethnic Ed hardy belts tension after riots last year killed nearly 200 people.
The report in the magazine was published late last Ed hardy belts month. No reason was given why the China Daily did not report the news until Wednesday.
Xinjiang has been the site of simmering unrest for years, with ethnic Uighurs (pronounced WEE-gurs) saying they have been marginalized as more and more Han Chinese move into the area. Chinese experts say the plan, if successful, will help ease those tensions and any potential unrest.
Various regions across Xinjiang, including 82 cities and towns, will received investment from 19 provinces and municipalities around China next year to help improve housing, employment and education opportunities under the plan, the state-owned China Daily newspaper reported Wednesday.
The plan calls for pairing financially strong regions such as manufacturing-powerhouse Guangdong province and Beijing with less-developed cities in Xinjiang, such as Hotan and Kashgar, the China Daily reported. It did not give financial figures but said areas outside Xinjiang will be required to provide training and education in addition to financial support.
China has touted its success in developing Tibet’s Ed hardy belts economy, creating jobs and substantially raising the standard of living. But critics worry the rush into Tibet could wreck much of the high-altitude region’s delicate ecosystem, and an influx of the majority ethnic Han Chinese threatens its Buddhist culture and traditional way of life.
China blames the rioting on overseas-based groups agitating for greater Uighur rights in Xinjiang, but has presented no direct evidence. The region was smothered in heavy security following the violence.
The Uighurs see Xinjiang as their homeland and resent the Han Chinese who have moved into the region in recent decades. They say the Han have unfairly benefited from the riches of Xinjiang, a strategically vital Central Asian region with significant oil and gas deposits.
China’s leaders, who recently replaced Xinjiang’s unpopular Communist Party boss, Wang Lequan, are expected to hold a major development meeting later this month on the region.
China’s other major ethnic area,Discount Abercrombie&Fitch, Tibet, has also suffered from tensions, and the government has poured billions of dollars into the region, encouraging development of transportation and other industries in the long-isolated region.
"By helping locals with language barriers and giving them better opportunities, the resentment will slowly wane," Hu told The Associated Press.
